You are always going to come up against stumbling blocks this way. What you are trying to do by the sounds (I'm not sure, as I have no idea of the controller you are using for this) is implement some smart-ish functionality from control surfaces into a generic MIDI controller. This makes possible some advanced behaviours, like implemented by the MCU for example. Logic maintains state for a control surface (what my fader bank is, what the selected channel within that fader bank is, how many channels a fader bank has, and many other things - the " DAW controller channel select bar" indicates what your fader bank is, how many channels it has, and banks up and down as Logic changes the fader bank positions etc). You have to realise the differences between a control surface, and a generic MIDI controller. You're running up against the walls of what you can do with "dumb" MIDI controller assignments, really. "When you receive this message, control the "Select" parameter on the Aux 33 channel strip." So ultimately your working assignment would be saying: The general workaround for this (which I use liberally) is to grab another assignment from a control surface that's already assigned to the parameter you want to control, and copy that to where you want it and edit its other parameters accordingly. And in Logic, there aren't really "Select" buttons to perform that action. The problem is that in Logic, you can't simply choose a parameter from a list of all available parameters, so you have to actually *perform* that parameter to learn a command to it. So depending on your setup, you may or may not have access to all the more advanced functionality that proper control surfaces give you, like fader banks and channel offsets and maintaining state about the selected track in a current fader bank etc. However, this parameter is part of the control surface group (sort of), and control surface functionality is only present and active in Logic if there is an actual control surface present (an intelligent-ish supported control surface, rather than a generic MIDI controller). The parameter to select a channel strip is called "Select", in the "Channel Strip" class, so that's the parameter you need to bind to.
